One of the important educational goals in primary school education is the automatisation of the times tables. In Times Tables by MemoryLab, children will practise the times tables at three progressive levels of learning and at a level that is specifically tailored to the skill level of each child. Every learning level is optimised for long-term recall of the times tables.
MemoryLab’s adaptive learning algorithm compiles a special training lesson that makes sure each child practises the multiplications which need to be practised most. Based on data from levels 1 to 3, the algorithm knows which multiplications are most likely to be forgotten, and uses them. This learning solution is based on the latest cognitive science research and tested for optimal effectiveness, usability, and to fit classroom practices with over 500 kids aged 6 – 12 in more than 12 classrooms.
Based on our pilot with Times Tables by MemoryLab, conducted from October 2023 until April 2024, we have gathered the following insights on our two algorithms:
